For gruduate music major and full time musician Isaac Johnson, it's all about the music.

Q: What instruments do you play?
A: Mainly guitar, a bit of piano, and a very mean kazoo; its popularity is on the rise.

Q: How old were you when you first realized you had a talent for music?
A: I think I was always really interested in music and it seemed to make more sense to me than just about anything else.

Q: What do you love most about music?
A: The most impressive thing is that a really good song can transcend the language barrier. People don’t have to understand the words to understand the emotion. That’s pretty powerful to me.

Q: Who are your musical influences?
A: My main three are U2, Stevie Wonder and The Beatles.

Q: What role does faith play in your music?
A: I think faith plays a role in my life which translates through my songs. My faith has taught me to be honest about my emotions and that’s definitely my goal in writing.

Q: What do you feel is the biggest misconception that aspiring artists have about getting into the music business and what advise would you give them?
A: Probably the overnight success myth. It takes some people ten years to be an overnight success. My best advice is to keep working on your craft so that when opportunities come along you’ll be ready for them. Oh, and, networking is your best friend.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: Right now it feels like I’ve got a good stream of forward momentum. I’d love to be on a major label and have toured around the world several times over. and I love meeting people and making that connection with music. I definitely plan on keeping that going.
