Men’s soccer head coach Phil Wolf will be named the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Coach of the Year in a 1:00 p.m. announcement from the NAIA national office today.
In addition to leading the Cougars to their first NAIA national championship in program history, Wolf led APU to its first undefeated regular season and established several new records for the Cougars in 2007.
Those season records include best winning percentage, most team shutouts and lowest average opponent goals. The Cougars also tied the program record for longest winning streak.
“It’s fantastic for Phil and great for the school,” athletic director Bill Odell said. “Phil represents this institution not only for his success on the field but for who he is and how he handles his team. I think it’s a great honor and I am really proud of him.”
Wolf has coached at APU since 2001 with a 107-25-15 record in seven seasons.
