These Are A Few (Or A Lot) Of My Favorite Things

I’m the new features editor this semester, and since Staff Selections is meant to give you glimpses into the lives of our writers and what they enjoy, I thought I’d introduce myself by sharing a few of my favorite things.

STEPHANIE BRINK | features editor

I love naps—anytime, anywhere. Being inside all day, especially when it’s 80 degrees in January, drives me crazy; I need little daily moments of sunshine.

I love to read but don’t do it nearly enough. I’m slightly obsessive about brushing my teeth, flossing and applying chapstick (I know it’s weird). In fact, I even carry a floss card in my wallet for emergency situations. I always chew teeth-whitening gum.

Watching live theater, especially musicals, thrills me. So does watching and playing sports; volleyball and soccer are my top two. I don’t watch movies often, but I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button this weekend and was very impressed. Totally worth the ten dollars (or six at the cheap theater).

Morning is my favorite time of the day becauses I can be productive. Making lists and checking off the items line by line makes me happy inside.

Pedicures are great but seldom occur these days. Equally great is ice cream, which frequently happens these days, and most days. Mint chocolate chip has been my longtime favorite, but is at risk of being surpassed by Dryers Girl Scouts thin mint cookie. Frozen Yogurt is always good too.
