Chandra Wilson (Dr. Bailey on Grey’s Anatomy) How did you get involved?

This kind of fell into my lap. I got a call from Chip and she said, “I am coming to the end of the tape series and I can’t believe I haven’t called your name. If there is any possible way you can show up in the next couple of days, we’d appreciate that.” I couldn’t think of any place else I would have rather been. I said, “Whatever you need. A song, a hymn, just an amen at the end of something.” And so, that’s how I was involved. I am just honored to have been asked and to be a part of it.

Who are you trying to reach with this show?

Any ear that’s open.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience?

Tape day was pretty amazing. because I just really felt that I was a piece of a whole. It wasn’t about who I am standing there; it was about my contribution as a whole. And I love that. I really felt that I was a part of something.

How has your faith personally affected your career?

I know who I am and whose I am. I don’t have big worldly goals. I never had a goal to be on a series on television or in a bunch of movies. There is no financial goal I am trying to reach. I am just doing the everyday. So when amazing things happen, I just look at it as a benefit; as a blessing. I didn’t hurt anybody to get anywhere, I didn’t step on anybody to get anywhere, and I would still be doing just fi ne if I was at home doing the 9-5. Same blessings.

Dulé Hill (From Psych and the West Wing) What do you hope people take away from the experience?

I hope that the audience would be inspired to study the Word for themselves. When you are dealing with the Word of God, it is more than just doing a scene from Pysch.I hope that it would inspire people to say, “Let me start learning something,”

How has your background affected your experience? I was raised in the church as long as I can remember. My mom is an ordained minister now, my daddy used to preach when I was growing up, my grandfather was a preacher. Because of that environment and being brought up in the church and knowing God, when this came up, it made me want to be a part of it.

How has your faith affected your career?

I think it affects everything you do. I like to have images that are positive, that people can aspire to, giving them some kind of laughter or hope or something. God affects everything I do. Every job I get comes from him, so I just leave it in his hands.

Cookie Johnson (Wife of Magic Johnson) How has the Bible Experience affected your faith?

It is just so wonderful to have the Bible come to life. I put it in the car when I’m driving and it’s just so cool. You hear the animals in the background and you can really go there. When Paul was dragged to jail, or when Jesus was being baptized by John, you hear everything and you just feel like you are there. It brings more meaning to the words and what the Lord is trying to teach us. I hope it would bring a lot of new Christians to be born.

Phil Morris How has your work affected your faith?

Well, I am a little different. I had no idea what it was. I was going to be reading Pharaoh and another part and I didn’t know anything about this project. So when I came in I saw Blair on the mike and I was like, “Is he reading Jesus?” Then they started to fi ll me in. They showed me some of the clips and it just humbled me. I started to read

Pharaoh and they stopped me and they said, “We are wasting you as Pharaoh because you are only reading a little bit. We want you to read Paul,” So I said, “How extensive is Paul?” and they gave me the entire script. And I took that as an honor and then it kind of dawned on me the responsibility that we all have in communicating and expressing this Word. So then my innate humanity and spirituality were truly peaked and challenged.

What do you hope people take away from the experience?

I hope that they have a greater sense of their own spirituality. Their own sense of their humanness and how we interact with each other and how the Lord wants you to express yourself with your brothers and sisters. And if we can get this out of this evening, this is perfect.
